Heřmanova 24 is a great example of Cubist architecture from the 1920s, currently undergoing a meticulous restoration. While the original architectural features have been carefully preserved, the interiors have been reimagined—ranging from comprehensive electrical wiring and surface finishes to shared spaces and technical infrastructure.
The aim is to harmonize the building’s distinctive character with the comforts of modern living, creating a residence that pays tribute to its heritage while adhering to the highest standards of contemporary lifestyle.
This project will deliver a collection of exclusive apartments, each designed with a focus on craftsmanship, quality materials, and enduring elegance.

The common areas are undergoing a full renovation, including the entrance hall, a new elevator, basement facilities, and a redesigned communal courtyard.
The commercial space is being developed on the ground floor, perfect for a café or service-oriented business. Residents also enjoy everyday conveniences such as a private sauna.

Project Overview
The Architect’s Vision
An architect’s role is not only to create new, high-quality architecture, but also to honor the original character of a building and thoughtfully adapt it to the contemporary needs of its residents. Guided by this approach, we at JKH Atelier took on the design and reconstruction of this remarkable Cubist house.
Our goal was to restore the building’s original elegance while providing clients with modern, high-standard housing. The common areas, serving as the building’s calling card, were given a representative character, enhanced by the preservation of high vaulted ceilings, the magnificent stone cladding at the entrance, and the original terrazzo floor with its decorative motifs. The layouts of the individual apartments were completely reimagined to meet today’s expectations and requirements for contemporary living. We also transformed the courtyard into a pleasant and inviting green space designed for gatherings and relaxation.
